Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
Bake the bread for about 10-12 minutes until golden and crisp.
While the bread is baking, prepare the bacon.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes.
Remove bacon from the skillet and transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat.
In a bowl, mix the cooked bacon, brown sugar, maple syrup, and black pepper together.
Return the glazed bacon to the skillet over low heat, stirring until the sugar is melted and bubbling.
Spread softened cream cheese on each toasted baguette slice.
Add a spoonful of fig jam on top of the cream cheese.
Top with the candied bacon mixture and sprinkle chives on top.
Finish with a small handful of arugula for garnish and serve immediately.
