Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups cauliflower florets
  • 1 pound sausage Italian or breakfast
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
  • Once the sausage is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the drippings.
  • In the same skillet, whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  • Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  • Add the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika into the sauce, then stir in the shredded cheddar until melted.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, broccoli, and cauliflower, then pour the cheese sauce over.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
