Easy Christmas Cupcake Recipe made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup festive sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
  • Fold in the festive sprinkles gently to avoid breaking them.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each liner about two-thirds full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, frost with your favorite frosting and decorate with more festive sprinkles.
