Savor a garlic mushroom grilled cheese packed with rich flavors. Perfect for a quick gourmet meal with melted cheese and sautéed mushrooms.
Ingredients
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp butter (divided)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp dried thyme
4 slices of bread
4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite)
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until soft and golden.
Stir in the minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Add a slice of cheese on each, then evenly spoon the garlic mushrooms on top.
Add another slice of cheese on top of the mushrooms, then cover with the remaining slices of bread (buttered side up).
Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Slice and serve warm. Enjoy!
